Emmerdale legend addresses exit fears 11 years after soap debut – as life hangs in the balance
Meanwhile Ella Forster stalking takes a sinister turn
EMMERDALE fans are fearing the worst as a soap legend has spoken out on their future – 11 years after first setting foot in the village.
With their character’s life hanging in the balance, viewers are bracing for a heartbreaking farewell. But will they really be waving goodbye, or is there still hope for survival?

Emmerdale star Jonny McPherson, 42, has broken his silence on his soap future after 11 years – and he’s thrilled to still be in the mix.
The actor, who’s played GP Liam Cavanagh since 2014, has been at the heart of some of the soap’s biggest storylines – including his recent brush with death in the shocking limo crash.
Speaking about his fate to the press, Jonny revealed: “I had quite a few texts from friends expressing concern, but thankfully Liam lives to fight another day.”
Despite soap exits being part and parcel of the game, Jonny admitted he’s just grateful to still be in the Dales, adding: “Acting is a precarious game – you never have guarantees of longevity, so you just make the most of it while you can.”
But Liam’s troubles are far from over.
Stalker Ella Forster (Paula Lane) is spiraling, bombarding Liam and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) with messages before things take a sinister turn.
As tensions soar, Liam calls the police when The Woolpack’s window is smashed, convinced Ella is behind it – unaware she’s lurking nearby.
But things take a terrifying turn when Ella corners Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), refusing to leave until she speaks to Liam.
When Liam finally arrives, he tries to outsmart Ella by pretending to believe her – but when she sees through his lies, she grabs a knife.
With Mandy and Chas racing to intervene, Ella flees – and Liam is right behind her.
Will Liam survive his latest ordeal?
Jonny has heaped praise on his Emmerdale co-star Paula Lane as they gear up for some of Liam and Ella’s most dramatic scenes yet.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News and other press, Jonny revealed just how much he admires Paula’s professionalism and experience.
“Paula is just a wonderful lady, and she’s impeccably professional – which comes from years working on Corrie,” he said.
“She’s got more experience than any of us, having done seven years on Corrie, working 12-hour days, week in, week out.”
Jonny added that despite the intensity of their storyline, Paula always brings great energy to set.
“She always knows her lines, she’s loads of fun, and she’s got that brilliant ability to step out of a heavy scene and have a laugh. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with her.”
