WILL There Be A “Dutton Ranch” Season 2? Here Is Every Reason To Believe The Answer Is Yes — And Why July 3 Could Be The Day We Find Out

Nine days from now, Dutton Ranch Season 1 comes to an end. And for 12.9 million fans who showed up for Beth and Rip’s first week in Texas — and kept showing up every Friday since — the question that has been quietly building all season is now impossible to ignore.

Will there be a Season 2?

As of June 2026, Paramount has not officially renewed Dutton Ranch for a second season. But the absence of an announcement is not the same as bad news. And when you look at every piece of evidence currently on the table, the case for renewal is not just strong — it is, by the standards of this franchise, almost overwhelming.

Start with the numbers.

Dutton Ranch drew 12.9 million views in its first seven days — officially the biggest original series debut in Paramount+ history. The show became the number one Nielsen-ranked show worldwide, dominating across all demographics. As of publication, it has spent more than 30 days ranking among the top 10 TV shows on Paramount+ charts in the U.S., and has remained number one on the platform for five consecutive days while also surging in international territories including Australia, Argentina, Canada, Mexico, the UK, France, and across Asia.

Those are not numbers that get a show cancelled. Those are numbers that get a show renewed before the finale airs.

Then there is the cast.

Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are expected to return as Beth and Rip. Their dynamic is the heart of the show, and it is hard to imagine Dutton Ranch continuing without them at the center. More importantly, both actors have served as executive producers on Season 1 — a level of investment that goes far beyond a standard acting contract and signals a long-term commitment to where this story goes.

Director and executive producer Christina Alexandra Voros, who helmed both the season premiere and finale, put it plainly: “I will say that there is such an embarrassment of riches in terms of the cast that we’ve had the honor to work with on this show. When you have a cast like that, you just want to see where it goes. I could film with that cast of characters forever.”

Cast member Berto Colón, who plays Miguel on the series, was equally direct when asked about renewal prospects: “I hope so,” he said, before adding that the viewership numbers alone should make the case. The show “deserves to be made,” in his words — and the cast is “waiting in hope.”

The franchise track record also matters.

Every Taylor Sheridan series that has premiered on Paramount+ has been renewed. The Madison, starring Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer, was renewed for Season 2 before a single episode of Season 1 had aired — and has since been picked up for Season 3. Landman Season 2 launched in November 2025. Marshals Season 2 is already in development. The Yellowstone universe has never lost a show to cancellation. Dutton Ranch, with its record-breaking debut, would be a shocking exception to a pattern that has held without fail.

There is one genuine complication: the showrunner situation.

Creator and showrunner Chad Feehan departed the series just weeks before Season 1 premiered and is not expected to return if the show moves forward. His exit throws some uncertainty around who would lead a potential Season 2. Executive producer Taylor Sheridan, who has guided several Yellowstone spinoffs, could step into a more active role — though no specific plans have been confirmed yet.

For fans who remember that Yellowstone itself went through significant behind-the-scenes turbulence in its final seasons, this is familiar territory. Sheridan’s universe has survived creative shake-ups before. It has never let them stop the story.

As for timing — watch July 3 very closely.

The renewal announcement is expected sooner rather than later — possibly even before the Season 1 finale airs. One industry analyst put it simply: “Keep your eyes peeled around the same time that the season finale drops on July 3.”

The finale is nine days away. The numbers are in. The cast wants to come back. The franchise has never cancelled a show.

Beth and Rip are not done with Texas. And Texas is not done with them.
