Jeremy Clarkson’s best friend reveals what he’s really like off-camera
Jeremy Clarkson’s best friend has revealed what he’s really like.
The TV star is best known for his work on the BBC’s Top Gear as well as The Grand Tour and Clarkson’s Farm on Prime Video.
Jeremy Clarkson lives in Oxfordshire.
All three shows have been produced by Andy Wilman, spanning over the last two decades as a frequent collaborator.
The 63-year-old also went to school with Mr Clarkson in Derbyshire, as well as Formula 1 Adrian Newey.
James May, Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson on The Grand Tour.
Mr Wilman has now spoken about what his 65-year-old best friend is like away from the cameras, revealing he is far more complex behind the scenes.
Speaking at Dunsfold Airfield, the iconic home of Top Gear, the Express reports him as saying: “He might be King of Outspoken Opinions, but behind that, he’s a worker bee.
“Tell him to deliver something by a certain time, and he’ll just get on with it.”
Having served as his schoolmate’s best man twice, Mr Wilman is also godfather to his friend’s son, Finlo, while his own daughter Martha has Mr Clarkson as one.
The pair worked together on both sides of the camera to create an iconic and memorable take on the long-running BBC motoring show.
This was before they, as well as Richard Hammond and James May, switched over to Prime Video in 2015 to create and star in The Grand Tour.
