Episodes follow the day-to-day life on the farm and help to highlight the plight of British farmers, raising the profile of the struggles they have to deal with.

With four series of the show already out and a fifth wrapping filming last month and on the way, Clarkson’s Farm has proved to be a global hit.

This farming fever has spread to Yorkshire for Halloween today (October 31) as two young children themed their costumes around the programme.

York siblings, seven-year-old Albert and five-year-old Savannah Garrington, have dressed up as Mr Clarkson and temporary farmhand Harriet Cowan, who appeared in the most recent season.

Explaining the costume choice, mum Verity said: “Since the children have been born, we’ve loved dressing them up and always try to do something different to what other parents usually pick or something that’s relevant to that year.

“In previous years, we’ve done costumes like Boris Johnson during lockdown, Leonardo DiCaprio, Wayne Lineker, Oasis and even gas and electricity bills when household bills shot up.

“As the children are older now, we asked them what they’d like to dress up as this year, and Albert instantly said ‘Jeremy’, then Savannah agreed, ‘I can be Harriet’.”

The two children are massive fans of Clarkson’s Farm and have watched all the episodes so far with series five on the horizon next year.

“When I asked why, they both said because they love the show,” added Verity, who shares the children with husband and dad Stuart.

“From Albert being able to talk, he’s always said he’s going to be a farmer and still stands by that at seven-years-old.

“So farming programs are always on the telly, but since they started watching Clarkson’s Farm, it’s been on repeat.

“They love that they get to see behind the scenes and the realness of farming life that’s shown, and love how much Jeremy supports the farming industry.

“They think he’s kind because he tries to help other farmers, too, but they also find everyone on the show hilarious.

“Savannah was so happy when Jeremy employed Harriet as she loves that there’s a ‘girl farmer’ on the show and says she looks up to her, she thinks she’s kind, clever and funny.”

“We’re happy for them to watch the show and would much rather the kids look up to people on telly like Jeremy, Harriet, Kalab and the rest of the team.”

Ms Cowan saw the costumes on Friday morning and shared the pictures on her Instagram story, and added: “The best thing I’ve seen this year.”

The family are planning on making the long trip down to Oxfordshire at some point to visit Mr Clarkson’s Cotswolds pub as well as The Diddly Squat Farm Shop.

“It would be an absolute dream for the children to go to Jeremy’s pub and farm shop and hopefully meet any of the team,” added Mrs Garrington.

“They ask all the time if we can go, but we live in York, so it’s a bit of a distance away from us, but we do plan on surprising them next year and taking them to Oxfordshire.”
