EastEnders’ Zack Morris, who played Keegan Baker, has landed a role in the medical drama The Pitt.
The HBO Max series, which debuted in January, follows the lives of healthcare professionals in the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
Viewers are given a real-time insight into a 15-hour shift within a US emergency department, as staff deal with insufficient resources and an ever-growing waiting room of patients.
Each episode covers one hour of the shift and sees newcomers Victoria Javadi, Dennis Whitaker, Dr Trinity Santos and Dr Melissa “Mel” King getting to grips with the inner workings of the hospital.
A second season of The Pitt is currently in production, and will hit our screens in January 2026.
According to Deadline, Morris will be joining the recurring cast as Jackson Davies, a patient who experiences an uncontrollable outburst in the college library.
He will star alongside new additions Sepideh Moafi, Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, Lucas Iverson and Lawrence Robinson.
Meanwhile, season two will welcome back existing cast members Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, Shawn Hatosy, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Azeez and Gerran Howell.
Described as “an outstanding show”, The Pitt received huge acclaim from critics and fans alike. Viewers praised the drama for its unique storytelling and “impressive accuracy”.
