This means his cows will be put under herd restrictions by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) – which could lead to them being culled. A clearly upset Jeremy said: “Bad news from Diddly Squat. We’ve gone down with TB. Everyone here is absolutely devastated.”

Movement restrictions will be placed on the farm, and further testing of the herd will be conducted to identify and remove infected animals.

Fans rushed to give their support to the Clarkson’s Farm creator.

Jikku said: “Sorry to hear that! I hope this tough times pass through!”

BillionthOne said: “this too shall pass, best of luck from across the pond.”

John added: “Really sorry to hear this, I wish you and the team well.”

Robert said: “Been in that situation in the past!

“Devastating as the heard could well have to be culled.

“Feel for you JC let’s hope the offending beast can be quarantined and culled.”

And Jeremy replied to him with even more devastating news: “The offending animal is pregnant with twins.”

Robert replied: “Sorry mate wished I could help. Best wishes”

A recent Defra and Welsh Government report shows that the financial cost of bTB on a farm business is £6,600, but the mid-range cost is approximately £22,518 per breakdown.

The cost can vary greatly, though, and depends on factors such as the size of the herd and the duration of the breakdown.
