Jeremy Clarkson has amassed a substantial fortune thanks to his successful television career, but the former Top Gear host’s farming efforts have proved to be less lucrative

Jeremy Clarkson faced considerable hurdles during the filming of Clarkson’s Farm, including the tragic loss of several newborn piglets and struggles to make farming profitable. In the third series, he was even hit with a closure notice from the council to shut down Diddly Squat Farm.

Despite these challenges, his appearances on his Amazon Prime reality show, Clarkson’s Farm, coupled with a significant payout from The Grand Tour, have bolstered his financial standing. Celebrity Net Worth estimates that the 65-year-old television star has an approximate fortune of around £59 million.

The former Top Gear host began his career humbly as a motoring journalist at the Rotherham Advertiser, but his earnings have since skyrocketed.

He secured his role as a Top Gear presenter in 1988 and served on the show for a decade before returning in 2002, eventually becoming the BBC’s highest-paid talent.

Despite facing setbacks, Jeremy managed to rebound, reportedly doubling his annual television salary to an estimated £3 million when he took on the presenting gig for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, as reported by the Express.

It’s also been reported that he received a substantial payout after selling his 50 percent stake in the production company Bedder 6, which held the rights to Top Gear.

Jeremy’s fame reached new heights when he landed an enormous £160 million deal with Amazon Prime for 36 episodes of The Grand Tour. However, Jeremy and his fellow presenters Richard Hammond and James May have since concluded the show.

He’s thought to have earned a substantial yearly sum of £10 million from his involvement in the series.

Given his impressive income and demanding showbusiness career, his decision to retreat to a secluded Oxfordshire farm for crop cultivation marked a surprising professional pivot.

Jeremy later grumbled about the difficulty of making money from farming, revealing that his actual profits totalled merely £114 in his first year.

One of his advisers was left speechless when Jeremy announced his intentions to launch his own brewing business.

Yet, he cleverly capitalised on his farming ventures through the Amazon Prime show Clarkson’s Farm, which chronicles his adventures at Diddly Squat Farm.

In the previous series, Jeremy and his reliable helper Kaleb Cooper encountered a significant disaster when their cider bottles started exploding, prompting them to issue a public warning.

During a tense phone call, Jeremy informed Kaleb: “The cider is exploding.”

He continued: “Immediately Kaleb and I headed off to see if Rick, our lager brewer knew what had gone wrong.”

Upon reaching the brewery owned by their mate Rick, they were met with the shocking revelation that “thousands” of bottles had exploded. It’s been suggested that Jeremy could pocket a handsome £25,000 for just one after-dinner talk, with his TV gigs, book deals, and column writing greatly inflating his bank balance.

His impressive fleet of vintage motors, boasting names like Ferrari, Mercedes, Lamborghini, and McLaren, is thought to be valued north of £500,000.
