Jeremy Clarkson has been forced to pause filming for the fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm

Doncaster-born TV star Jeremy Clarkson has announced that production on the fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm has had to be put on hold for a short while.

The seasoned broadcaster, 65, has been delighting fans with his escapades at Diddly Squat farm located in the Cotswolds’ Chadlington, Oxfordshire, through the popular Amazon Prime documentary series since its debut in 2021.

Throughout the show, Jeremy has weathered numerous agricultural challenges, picked up farming know-how from his trusty sidekick Kaleb Cooper, and won viewers’ affection with the farm’s adorable animals. He’s encountered several “disasters” too, such as tackling the opening of a farm shop and running the on-farm pub named The Farmer’s Dog.

However, now there’s been a slight interruption as Jeremy informed his followers that season five’s filming has faced an unexpected delay, reports Gloucestershire Live. By sharing a flight map image on Instagram, Clarkson made it known to his audience that an unanticipated aircraft had flown into the airspace over his property.

Fans were given a glimpse as the plane seemed to circle above Diddly Squat before moving on, flying across the local towns like Charlbury, Woodstock, Stonesfield, and heading towards Kingham in the west.

In his post, Clarkson quipped: “Definitely don’t mind having to stop filming while this flies over.” A witty fan remarked in response: “Is Richard strapped on top of it?” alluding to Clarkson’s former Top Gear colleague, Richard Hammond.

Another fan commented ponderingly: “I’ve always been curious about how loud these things are, in a practical sense.”

Fans chimed in with humorous remarks, such as “Why would you stop filming! Get the Spitfire in the show! !” Another quipped: “Jeremy: Did you see the spitfire flying over head today? Kaleb: What’s a spitfire?”.

This isn’t the first instance where filming had to be halted due to an unexpected interruption. There were claims that production for season four was paused multiple times.

A notable incident occurred last August when a “giant military aircraft” flew overhead, forcing the cameras to stop rolling. Earlier in the year, Clarkson expressed frustration over an alleged deliberate helicopter disturbance, posting on Instagram: “Filming paused till this f****ard buggers off,” alongside a photo of a helicopter circling Diddly Squat.

Clarkson announced in a video last November that season five of Clarkson’s Farm would be arriving on screens, even before the fourth season had premiered. In a creative announcement on Bonfire Night, featuring lit-up drones in the background, he stated: “Over the years, bright lights in the sky have been used to make many important announcements – the birth of baby Jesus, for example.”

As the drones formed the number five, he continued: “But tonight, they’re being used to make an announcement that’s even bigger than that. Season 5 of Clarkson’s Farm is coming.”

However, he later revealed that the team would be taking a brief hiatus before potentially working on a sixth season. Speaking to The Times, he said: “Whatever happens we’ll definitely take a short break as the crews are all worn out. We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest.”
