Noel Edmonds has a bone to pick with Jeremy Clarkson as he joked about his rival’s Amazon Prime Video show, Clarkson’s Farm, and issued him with a challenge

Noel Edmonds is back in the UK limelight after a break from the public eye – and he issued a challenge to Jeremy Clarkson on his new TV show.

The latest ITV series, Noel Edmonds’ Kiwi Adventure, charts the journey of the ex-Deal Or No Deal presenter and his wife Liz as they endeavour to establish a hospitality business in Ngatimoti, a quaint rural village. Their projects include initiating a vineyard, operating a coffee cart, and managing a general store, restaurant, and pub.

Prior to the show’s debut, 76-year-old Noel was eager to distinguish his programme from Clarkson’s Farm, Jeremy Clarkson’s popular series on Amazon Prime Video set in Chipping Norton.

Speaking to The Sun, Noel made it clear: “When we were filming our show, some people who knew about Clarkson’s Farm said to me, ‘Oh, is it like Clarkson’s Farm?’ And I said, ‘No, it couldn’t be more different.'”

However, he described Jeremy as “brilliant” and in the upcoming second episode of Noel Edmonds’ Kiwi Adventure, which airs on ITV1 on Friday, June 27, Noel takes the opportunity to broach the subject of Jeremy again, as he issues a playful challenge, reports Bristol Live.

While guiding viewers through his wellbeing centre, Noel highlighted high-tech equipment including a sizeable TV screen equipped with a Zoom camera, enabling him to participate in pub quizzes. He quipped that the team from his pub, The Bugger Inn, could potentially compete against Jeremy’s Diddly Squat team, despite being countries apart.

“Over there is a fully Zoom-capable screen,” he remarked to viewers. “We may come here for our pub quiz. I quite fancy The Bugger Inn taking on Diddly Squat. We’d wipe em’ out.”

He also threw down the gauntlet, saying: “Come on Jeremy, take the challenge.”

In the second episode, already available on ITVX, Noel discussed his financial woes, confessing that he’s “haemorrhaging money” at his £15m New Zealand property amidst a downturn in guests at his opulent River Haven estate caused by relentless rainfall.

Explaining the impact of weather on his enterprises, he noted: “When you come to New Zealand, you change your view about your relationship between the weather and the economy.”

Delving deeper into the current financial pinch, he mentioned: “We’re haemorrhaging money at the moment because you have to take staff on in anticipation of the guests coming. We’re going to have to have a spectacular November and December to balance the books.”

Reflecting on his experiences, he concluded: “New Zealand is a great place to come to but it’s not the easiest place to set up a business.”
