Emmerdale announces full details of Paddy Dingle’s brutal dog a*tack
His relationship with Bear is destroyed.
Emmerdale’s Paddy Dingle is mauled by an out-of-control dog next week, leading to an irreconcilable feud between him and dad Bear Wolf.
While parked up on the side of the road, poor Paddy spots a helpless sheep trapped in a fence on Celia’s farm and can’t help but rush to save the innocent animal.
After freeing it, Paddy freezes in icy fear when an aggressive dog approaches him – and starts to attack. As Paddy is dragged into the dog’s violent jaws, Bear saves him – but not before Paddy is gravely wounded, warranting an emergency hospital trip.
Worried wife Mandy Dingle waits alongside heroic Bear for Paddy to come out of surgery. When he does, he’s grateful to to his dear old dad for saving his life – but Bear soon bursts his bubble with a barrage of insults against Paddy’s character.

“Mandy is horrified by Bear’s outburst,” our insider says, “and she quickly removes him from Paddy’s room – but the damage has already been done. Paddy is inconsolable and completely devastated to hear his dad’s brutal opinion of him.”
After returning home on his birthday, Paddy is visited by his best mate Marlon Dingle – who also fails to bring a smile to his face as Paddy is consumed by concerns that his veterinary career is over.

After Marlon leaves, spiralling Paddy comes to a grisly decision about the devilish dog’s fate. The vexed vet grimly takes his bolt gun from the cabinet and heads out towards Celia’s farm.
“Paddy tries to take his dad’s advice and ‘man up’,” explains our source, “so he heads out to try and kill the dog that attacked him. But things go very wrong, and he ends up totally out of his depth and in a tense argument with Celia.”
Returning home, dejected Paddy feels worse than ever and decides to take it all out on Bear, entirely blaming his insults for this failed confrontation.

But when Paddy orders struggling Bear to move out, he fails to recognise that his dad is suffering from depression like he has previously.
Will Paddy come to regret the decision to leave his old man homeless?
