The former Grand Tour star shared some surprising audience feedback

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed one Clarkson’s Farm fan’s honest review of the hit Prime Video show – and they didn’t mince their words.

The 65-year-old broadcaster said: “We do get a huge number of Chinese people coming to the pub.

“I said to one of them, who spoke really perfect English, ‘Why is a programme set on a farm in England relevant to your country where half the things we grow you don’t really eat?’

“And he replied, ‘We cannot believe how incompetent you are’. In China, they just watch it because they think we’re idiots!”

The star was speaking about how Clarkson’s Farm had become a huge hit around the world in various regions.

Reflecting on the universal success of Clarkson’s Farm, Jeremy said: “An American farmer told me that before he and his farming mates had watched Clarkson’s Farm, they thought that all the problems they had were uniquely American.

“When they saw Clarkson’s Farm they realised they’d got exactly the same problems as we have in the UK.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re in Australia, Germany, Norway, the farmers in all of these countries watch the show, and it’s exactly the same. Weather and government affects you wherever you are in the world.”

However, it seems China is an outlier, with Clarkson’s Farm serving as comic relief rather than just an agricultural show.

Season four saw Jeremy and the Diddly Squat Farm team facing many obstacles after the star decided he wanted to get a pub business up and running.

The road to making his farm to fork vision a reality was anything but easy as Jeremy hit every road block possible, from a crumbing building to red tape and even staff walkouts after the opening.

All resulting in hilarious TV for audiences as everything that could go wrong did.

Nonetheless, it looks like The Farmer’s Dog Pub is now starting to become a success after its tricky beginnings.

Jeremy’s words come as work is underway on season five of Clarkson’s Farm, with more mishaps expected.

Lisa Hogan has been sharing some behind-the-scenes footage from the upcoming episodes, including a moment when filming was thrown into chaos.

In the short clip, Lisa, 51, was encircled by a herd of goats, who proceeded to try and eat all her things.

The cameraman didn’t emerge unscathed from the goats either after they nibbled at his clothes. His camera was destroyed by the mischievous farm animals.

Season five was confirmed back in November 2024 – even before an episode of the fourth outing had even been screened, showing Prime Video’s confidence in the series.

Unsurprisingly, season four of Clarkson’s Farm had huge ratings on the streamer and is on course to become the most-watched outing of the hit series, reported Deadline.

Each episode of season four averaged 4.4 million videos, according to seven-day viewing figures from Barb and overnights.tv.

In comparison, season three had 4.3million viewer average, pushing the new series just ahead of its predecessor.

Clarkson’s Farm season four has also become Prime Video’s biggest show of the year.
