Emmerdale confirms heartbreaking đeath â and a twisted resident profits
Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) arrived at the hospital to see her mum in tonightâs episode of Emmerdale, only to be told she had died.
We actually met Helen (Sharon Maughan) yesterday when Caleb (William Ash) visited the unwell woman. Caleb called Helen âpoisonousâ and spoke about how she previously tried to pay him money to leave Ruby. As far as Caleb was concerned, Ruby wasnât going to go anywhere near her mum.
It was an unexpected development (Picture: ITV)
During these scenes, Caleb spied an opportunity. He told Helen that if she gives him ÂŁ100k, he will try and get Ruby to visit her.
Unfortunately (or fortunately? Weâre not actually quite sure) Calebâs idea didnât go quite according to plan. During tonightâs episode of the ITV soap, Ruby visited the hospital on her own after Helen gave her number to a nurse.
The nurse sadly told Ruby that her mum had died around 20 minutes ago. While Ruby wasnât looking forward to seeing Helen, she really didnât expect to be told she couldâve had a conversation with her had she been just a few minutes earlier.
As Ruby made her way into the ward room, Caleb loomed outside. Ruby spoke to her mum and couldnât understand why she requested to see her after so long.
Returning home, a downbeat and deflated Ruby told Caleb that she had been at the hospital. Caleb took the approach of playing dumb as Ruby updated him, thinking this was for the best.
Despite the cold persona she has, it was clear Helenâs sudden death had impacted her. Ruby had so many questions for her mum regarding their past and her decision to contact her â and she sadly wasnât ever going to get the answers.
As Ruby reached for a drink, Caleb was seen receiving a notification on his phone. His bank account confirmed that Helen managed to transfer him the ÂŁ100k before her death, meaning she was quite desperate to see Ruby after all.
Caleb â unsurprisingly â has found himself in another difficult situation. Does he tell Ruby about the money and visiting Helen, or keep his involvement quiet?
