The Story Behind The Confusing Drawing That Threw Young and the Restless Fans into a Tizzy
Who drew it, and why was there the wrong number of sisters?
When The Young and the Restless celebrated Joshua Morrow’s 30th anniversary with the show on Friday, June 21, they covered not only Nick and Sharon’s on-again/off-again-off-again…and on-again-off-again — relationship, but also the loss of their beloved daughter Cassie, who was Mariah’s twin.
Cassie died as a teen after a drunken driving accident. But, before she died, she predicted that her parents would have another little girl. Cassie’s prediction came true with the birth of Faith, who listened to her parents’ stories in the episode. But then, Sharon did something that confused everybody.
Picture Perfect
Sharon (Sharon Case) lamented how much she wished her beautiful daughters could have grown up together. And, to make her point, she pulled out a picture wee Cassie (Camryn Grimes) once drew, a picture so special that Sharon and Nick framed it. A picture of Cassie, her mommy Sharon, her Daddy Nick, her little brother, Noah, and her little sister, Faith (Reylynn Caster).

Aw, so sweet. The dream family that was so tragically shattered when Cassie died. But…. But…. But….
Time Bandits
Cassie predicted her little sister on her deathbed. It was literally one of the last things she said before she flatlined. She did not, in between making her prediction and taking her last breath, have time to throw together a quick drawing.
And, even if she had, the picture looked like it was drawn by a Kindergartener. Cassie was in high school when she died. And, even if we assume that the blow to the head made Cassie’s drawing skills juvenile, all she predicted was a little sister. Not a little sister, she knew her parents would name Faith.
