“That Woman Knows Something”: Emilia Clarke Struggles When Asked About Her Star Wars Future

During a recent interview for Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion, Qi’ra actress Emilia Clarke struggled to properly answer a question regarding her Star Wars future. Qi’ra first appeared as an original character in Solo: A Star Wars Story, with Clarke playing the childhood friend of Han Solo who became an integral cog in the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate. Since her appearance, Qi’ra’s storyline has been fleshed out in wider Star Wars canon through books and comics, yet some still yearn to see Clarke reprise the character in live-action.

As pointed out by a fan account by the name of mcuwaititi (via an interview conducted by Phase Zero), Emilia Clarke was recently asked whether she would like to revisit her Star Wars’ Qi’ra after Solo by fellow Secret Invasion – and Star Wars – costar Ben Mendelsohn. Clarke then struggles to reply, stuttering and failing to give a proper response before Mendelsohn humorously interrupts as a means of “saving” her. Clarke then jests: “I’m in Marvel now I’m not allowed!”, though her less-than-assertive reply has led to the query of whether Clarke knows something about a Star Wars return.

How Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra Could Have A Star Wars Future

Naturally, this unclear response from Clarke has prompted fans to assume she knows something they do not regarding a potential return to Star Wars for Qi’ra. It is no secret that many have been curious about what happened to Qi’ra after Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s huge Darth Maul reveal. Stemming from this interview clip then, many have been wondering where Qi’ra could pop up in future Star Wars stories taking into account her story being set between A New Hope and Return of the Jedi.

One of the most likely future Star Wars projects in which Qi’ra could appear is Star Wars OutlawsOutlaws is a video game that was officially announced in 2023 by Ubisoft, centering on the criminal underworld of Star Wars and set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Given the focus on the criminal side of the universe and the timeline lining up, Qi’ra could certainly appear in this game. Similarly, Qi’ra could appear in the Lando series alongside Donald Glover as the titular character, given their connection in Solo. Regardless, a Qi’ra return to Star Wars would undoubtedly be welcomed by many.
